Elk Mountain Motors

These days it can be difficult to find a great, honest, and reasonably priced mechanic. Rob and his team are that and more! I had such a great experience the two times I have used them and now I will be a customer for life. I love when a shop lets you know that the repair is less than anticipated due to finding something not as complicated as it could have been! I also love a clean and well organized shop and EMM is immaculate. They also were able to help me out with a loaner car that was a huge help! I highly recommend them!!

The team, Rob and Chris, provided a level of service and professionalism that is rarely encountered these days. I was visiting the Ashville NC area and encountered an issue with a classic Porsche. I had passed Elk Mountain Motors a few times while in Ashville but had never stopped. Rob, the owner, and Chris Master Tech, both came out of the shop to diagnose my problem. Needed a starter. Easier said than done for a 39 year old vehicle. They immediately order the part. Overnight delivery - no problem and expected. The part arrived on a day the shiop was closed. Both of them came in (on their day off) to get the part installed to get me back on my way ( this was way beyond expectations). My car lives 600 miles away in Florida. They did not ask for "extra" money. They simply made a handshake commitment to get my car fixed and they stood by it. As a bonus, as I was visiting the area , they were able to put me in a loaner to get around town. All they ask was that I return it in the same condition I received it in. Done. This shop maintains their regular customers on a daily basis. To provide the care and time for a total stranger really indicates the level of sencerity and mechanical

If you're seeking a reliable auto repair shop, Elk Mountain Motors comes highly recommended. I required immediate brake pad replacement, and the owner kindly accommodated my last-minute request. They efficiently replaced the brake pads, calipers, and rotors and performed a brake inspection, resolving the issue with my vehicle. I will definitely go back very honest and kind people.

Elk Mountain Motors has reminded me that integrity still thrives and it is just around the corner. Rob Harmon showed his humanity from my first inquiring phone call about what I suspected to be a pretty bad oil leek in my older model vehicle. I needed a loner car for what I imagined might be a long repair. Check! I needed him to be honest with me about required repairs, especially if the cost would be more than my old car is worth. Check! Rob's team inspected my car & found the leak as well as several other issues that needed repair. The estimate came within the day and was very thorough. Rob offered to review each item with me to help prioritize the repairs in terms of safety/necessity. In the end, Rob helped me come up with a plan that I could live with in order to keep my car on the road for a little longer, while looking for a different vehicle. I'm really grateful for the service, the respect for me and my situation, and Rob's easy nature and willingness to go above and beyond what I expected. Thanks Rob! Elk Mountain Motors has definitely earned my future car care business, which, as it turns out, is a lot for one woman and a car! I wish I had discovered you sooner as

Rob gives top class service and updates. My car had been sitting for over seven years, and Rob started by giving me a very fair estimate to bring the car back into serviceable repair. He followed through by getting the work done with only a small amount over the initial estimate, and the car is running awesomely now. I would highly recommend this shop to get the job done by experts and to end up with a car in full working order.
